Joining a student organization will broaden your perspectives, open opportunities, and deepen your connection and passion with interests and issues important to you.
Make a meaningful difference by helping to solve problems, build communities, and empower others. UMBC is a national leader in preparing students to make a difference on campus and beyond. Learn how to imagine and organize social change projects, build powerful networks, and bridge differences in your community and beyond. During summer session, UMBC offers Special Programs that enable students to pursue meaningful civic engagement and community outreach opportunities.
Diversity and support groups
UMBC is one of the most diverse campuses in the nation. Our diversity is reflected through the activities of groups such as the Mosaic Center for Culture and Diversity, the Interfaith Center, the Women’s Center, LGBTQ, and many others. These groups exemplify our commitment to diversity and what it brings to campus life, while supporting students to build their awareness and knowledge of diverse people, cultures and belief systems.
