Winter Wednesday: The Baltimore Field School & the Ethics of Engaged Research

Part of UMBC’s Public Humanities program, Baltimore Field School 2.0 (BFS) brings UMBC faculty, graduate students, and staff together with community partners to collaborate and build sustainable and ethical research and teaching projects. Join Dr. Sarah Fouts to learn about the genesis and future of the BFS, and the why and how of moving away from extractive research projects in Baltimore City.
Bio:
Sarah Fouts is an Assistant Professor in the Department of American Studies, an affiliate professor in the Language, Literacy, and Culture doctoral program, an affiliate professor in the Latin American Studies minor, and director of the Public Humanities Minor program. Fouts’ research interests include political economy, food studies, New Orleans, Honduras, ethnography, labor, and community engagement.
